2. THE IMPORTANCE OF PLANNED MAINTENANCE

  • Using an unroadworthy vehicle can damage company policy, objectives and reputation.
  • Poor maintenance can have consequences for the operator’s licence and Certificate of Competence.

2.1 VEHICLE PROHIBITION

  • Defective vehicles found during roadside checks may receive a PG9 prohibition notice.
  • PG9s are recorded against the operator’s licence at the Traffic Area Office.
  • Recorded prohibitions may affect future licence applications or fleet increases.
  • They may also contribute to revocation, suspension or curtailment of the operator’s licence.
