3. PROGRAMME PLANNING

  • Inspection and service frequency should consider manufacturer recommendations, fleet size, vehicle age and type, type of operation, average mileage, facilities, staff qualifications and the standard to be achieved.
  • The DfT Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness gives advice on suitable frequencies and provides examples of defect reports, inspection sheets and outline maintenance contracts.
