8. Training for the Practical Test

  • A provisional vocational licence holder must be accompanied by someone holding a full entitlement for the category being driven.
  • Unlike car tuition, the material states there is no separate DVSA instructor qualification requirement for vocational instructors.
  • The instructor must have held the relevant category of licence for at least 3 years.
  • The training vehicle must display normal car-style L plates at the front and rear.
  • Provisional vocational licence holders may drive on motorways during training when accompanied by a full licence holder.
