Duration of Vocational Licences New vocational entitlements issued since 19 January 2013 have a maximum validity of 5 years according to the training material. Drivers under 45 renewing their entitlement can self-certify continued compliance with medical requirements. Drivers over 45 cannot self-certify and must complete the required medical renewal process. The material states that renewal entitlement lasts until age 66 or for 5 years, whichever is shorter. Once over 65, vocational entitlements must be renewed every year with a successful medical examination. Medical examinations for renewal cannot normally be completed more than 4 months before the licence comes into force.
