• Groupage: consolidation of part-load international consignments into full unit loads.
• Road/rail: France – Novatrans/Kangourou system; Germany – Kombi-Verkehr.
• Cabotage: collection and delivery in a country other than the vehicle's registration country.
• Third-country traffic: vehicle registered in one country, collection in another and delivery in a third.
• Bilateral permits: source identifies CIS states such as Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, plus Turkey for transit.
• ECMT permits: multilateral permits available through DVSA; hire and reward only; cabotage prohibited.
• ECMT permits require the relevant log book and vehicle compliance/roadworthiness documentation.
• ECMT log-book originals and complete books have the return deadlines stated above.
