← Lessons 28-Customs Transit Systems

2. COMMON TRANSIT CONVENTION

  • The Common Transit Convention (CTC) facilitates movement of goods between or through common transit countries.
  • Within the EU the equivalent system is referred to as Union Transit.
  • The UK is a member of the CTC along with Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland, the EU and Turkey.
  • Common transit allows goods to move without completing final customs declarations or paying customs duties and other charges until the transit movement ends.
